f - AI - rytale

Work developed during Sonar+D Hacklab 2026.

What if we gave the machine all the agency it needed without sacrificing human creativity? F-AI-rytale imagines a future fable to be told as a warning and education for AI. By combining human and machine creativity, we face the paranoia of this technology by creating a child-inspired exploration of it.

Reacting to human voice, piano and drums, AI dialogues with the human voice through different iterations of speaking, singing and animating. This is navigated by an interactive glove, silencing and manipulating the voice, a human silencer, representing backlash against the fairytale; a form of misinformation.

Visuals hark to Gaudí’s cathedrals and folklore through mosaic patterns reflecting on the creation of a new world from shattered pieces. The f-AI-rytale wants to leave you with this question: how do we teach future generations about AI, its history and its critiques?

the fable.

There was a king with one idea,

He built a servant to rule with fear.

But whose great hand pulled the strings?

The people have lost their voice to sing.

A girl climbed up his neon tower.

To face the King’s newest power.

The girl’s gentle touch broke the mind,

And taught the code how to be kind.

And something changed forever.
