Many Hands Make

A monthly creative coworking and support group for artists, makers and dreamers.

Looking for a community of creators to get support and bounce ideas?
Need a space to focus and finally get that project moving?
Want honest, constructive feedback on your work?

Welcome to Many Hands Make! A gentle, in-person creative coworking group in Naarm/Melbourne. Each session is about carving out time for your creative practice while connecting with a community of like-minded people.

What to Expect

As independent artists and creators, it can be isolating to work alone. Many Hands Make brings together interdisciplinary creatives to create, connect and support one another—facilitated by me, Tash Atkins.

Here’s how the an average session is run:

  1. Introductions – We share names and a quick note about what we’re working on.

  2. Goal-setting – Each person sets an intention for their creative time.

  3. Quiet coworking – A focused block of time to work on your project.

  4. Feedback + brainstorming – We regroup at the end for sharing, feedback and encouragement.

Bring whatever you’re working on—writing, stitching, coding, planning, painting, editing—and get the time, focus and community you need.

Art is dangerous. make change by holding space for your creative practice.

Why was MHM started?

Many Hands Make (MHM) was originally co-founded by Tash Atkins and a group of creatives in Eora/Sydney in January 2020 as a weekly support group. The aim was to provide accountability, community and connection for independent artists.

Attendees would bring their work to create side by side, share ideas and break through creative blocks together. Unfortunately, the group dissipated in early 2021 due to COVID.

In 2024, Tash revived Many Hands Make in Naarm/Melbourne to offer monthly sessions. Their goal is to facilitate creativity and passion by holding a safe, supportive space for community building, new ideas and creative collaboration.
