In The Making: An Exhibition

December 11–15, 2025, Unassigned gallerY

What is ‘In The Making’?

This exhibition at Unassigned Gallery is all about making in community and celebrating art as a way to connect. Presented by Many Hands Make (MHM), this exhibition is about perfect imperfection, focusing on community and creating with joy.

The art that makes up this exhibition will be submissions from the MHM Community, as well as the broader arts community surrounding Unassigned Gallery. We are looking for works in progress, the artwork never thought good enough to exhibit, something part of a yet-to-be-finished series, something in a completely different style, or anything that’s not quite ‘done’. More information on how to submit your art is below.

MHM are also turning the gallery into a shared studio! A place to work side by side, swap ideas, learn new skills in workshops (stay tuned!) and build a creative community together. You can drop in during the gallery’s normal opening times and contribute to a wall of works created during the exhibition.

Opening night

Join us for the opening night of In The Making, a celebration of all the artists who’ve shared their works-in-progress for this playful, process-driven exhibition. We’ll kick things off with a live set from Skull Kid Ensemble, followed by DJ Tax Fraud with beats into the evening. Expect good food, good drinks, and plenty of creative conversations.

Find out more

As part of the exhibition, there will be a series of creative workshops for free or low cost, run by local creatives. Think jewellery making, poetry and craft.
